Meals & More
Meals & More is a foodie website dedicated to the meal delivery industry in the USA. Every user can find a great variety of websites, recipes, and articles about his preferred diet. Bon appetit!
If you're a beginner in the kitchen or don't have the time to plan and shop for meals, a meal-kit delivery service is one way to ensure you get several home-cooked meals per week for your household. The instructions and the recipes are simple, and you’ll save some money as well.
You’ll get recipes, cooking tips, and the amounts of ingredients you need. We've tested a few of them, and we've found that the quality is pretty good. Costs are pretty similar across the board for these services.
There are many reasons for meal delivery service popularity: lack of time to prepare food, availability of variety, rewards, and cash-back. This led me to think of a more convenient and attractive website for users in order to meet their expectations more precisely while ordering food online.
By creating Meals & More I wanted to enable the user to find all the top meal delivery services in one convenient place. Many of the services offer choices such as vegetarian, paleo, low-carb, vegan, and more. Also, the user can find many recipes and articles about meal delivery and all types of diets.
All you need to know about meal delivery is now available in one place! All that is left to do is unpack and cook.
Wireframes & UX
Wireframes are used early in the development process to establish the basic structure of an app before visual design and content is added. In the ideation phase I created wireframes presenting information architecture of the future layout.
The design process was an interesting creative challenge. Researching the competition gives you an idea of common color threads that run through the other companies and it will show you what direction to avoid or to go directly toward to ensure that you create a better website.
I started to set the tone and feel, colors, buttons, icons, and font size to create the graphic universe of the website.
Responsiveness is another important point in the UI/UX design. It’s important for the user to be able to experience the website on all types and sizes of screens in the best way possible.
Meals & More's Color Palette
Coral is a warm color. If you want to create an atmosphere of warmth and friendliness, you can safely choose coral. In addition, coral can add feelings of confidence and vitality, as well as stimulate the appetite.

A heat map is data analysis software that uses color as a data visualization tool. If you’re looking at a web page and you want to know which areas get the most attention, a heat map shows it to you in a visual way.
The “Meals & More” heat map in the chart movies page, shows that the average user goes exactly where we want him/her to go, the CTA of the top meal delivery services. The user then moves on to the meal delivery service of his choice and makes his/her purchase there.
The Final Product
I have designed a responsive foodie website for desktop, tablet, and mobile platforms. The design was created after doing some research on the other websites in the same category. But, it was very important to create a different and unique design apart from the others.
Tim is not a chef, but loves delicious food. Watch as he tries out different meal delivery services.
We decided to use someone like Tim so the user could have someone to connect with and relate to. That way the user can see a person like him/her opening and cooking the meals.
The content team created many interesting articles where users can learn more about the meal kits and all the types of diets out there.
Cook by Yourself
At the “Meals & More” website, you will find some of the recipes from the top meal delivery companies. You can see photos and try the dishes from the top meal kits.
How to choose the best meal kit
There are many meal kit companies out there; we’ll help you choose the best ones. We reviewed and researched all the top companies, and shared all that information with up-to-date reviews including everything you need to know.
Working on this project helped me learn that user research is crucial for the entire design process.
There are many people who support the idea that digital products of today should be minimalist and purely functional. However, my experience and practice shows that people want to both solve their problems and feel aesthetic satisfaction. The balance of these things was my responsibility as UI/UX designer on this project.
