Sunbit SMB Web Redesign

  • Role

  • Product Design

As Lead Product Designer, I led the transformation of Sunbit’s outdated chat experience into a sleek, branded, and scalable in-app solution. The old system relied on a third-party widget that didn’t align with Sunbit’s design or meet the needs of a rapidly growing customer base.

From “just functional” to trustworthy

While Sunbit’s mobile app was polished and widely trusted, the web portal told a different story. It handled tens of thousands of payments, yet looked outdated and felt disconnected from the rest of the product ecosystem.

The Problem

The web experience lacked consistency, clarity, and key functionality available in the app. Users couldn’t manage ACH payments or change due dates, navigation was confusing, and the visual design didn’t reflect the brand. As a result, engagement was low and support requests were high.

The Solution

As Lead Product Designer, I reimagined the web portal to match the app experience, both visually and functionally. I redesigned the payment flows, introduced missing features, simplified navigation, and unified the design system across platforms. The goal was simple: create a web experience that feels just as reliable as the app.

Impact

The redesign increased user trust and engagement with the web platform. Customers completed payments with more confidence, relied less on support, and developers benefited from reusable components and faster build times. The web portal shifted from being an afterthought to a dependable part of the Sunbit product ecosystem.
